La Paz Community School — Tempisque Campus

La Paz's second campus, inland near Palmira in Carrillo, running the same IB dual-language program.

This is La Paz's second campus — same school, same IB dual-language program, different side of the map.

It sits inland at Palmira, in Carrillo, 300 metres northwest of the Do IT Center Lagar entrance toward Papagayo. If you are looking at Papagayo, Playas del Coco, or anywhere in the north, this is the La Paz campus that is actually reachable. The Cabo Velas campus down by Flamingo is a serious drive from up there.

What it runs

The same thing as Cabo Velas: preschool through Grade 12, IB World School, dual-language immersion, and the same emphasis on Peace Practices, mindfulness, service learning and place-based experiential work. Accredited with Costa Rica's MEP, ACEP and the College Board.

If you have read about La Paz and liked what you saw, the program here is that program.

Why it matters for buyers

The north end of the coast — Papagayo, Coco, Ocotal, Hermosa — has fewer school options than the Tamarindo–Flamingo corridor. Tempisque, along with Lakeside at Sardinal, is a big part of what makes buying up there workable for a family with kids.

That changes the maths on a lot of houses. Somewhere near Papagayo that looked impossible on schools might not be.

Before you decide

Two campuses of the same school are not identical in practice — different buildings, different staff, different feel. Visit the one your kids would actually attend, not the one you read about.

And drive it. Inland Guanacaste roads are their own thing in October.
